Do I Know You?

How many pronouns can a person find

A use for in a single line of prose?

I used to think that it would be divine

To know every desire and juxtapose

Your nightmares, loves, and horrors all at once.

To my surprise I realized that I

Decided "you" should have a new facade.

This is a love poem, "you" underlie

Dynamic lust that makes its perfect way.

The static one I always seem to chase

I never see you in my daily maze.

Sometimes to see if you exist, I race

To know only that I will never know

Your hopes and wishes and fears. Whose are they now?
